About this program

The lower Connecticut River has been a working waterway for centuries. Shipbuilders, captains, merchants and families all left their mark on the villages along its banks, and plenty of legends grew up around them.

Our history walking tours bring those stories back to life, from carved headstones to the houses and wharves of river villages. Seasonal ghost walks lean into the lore.

What you’ll do

  • Walk historic streets and burial grounds with a guide who knows their stories.
  • Hear about the people who built, sailed and settled along the river.
  • Separate legend from history, and enjoy both.
  • Join a seasonal ghost walk, when one is scheduled.
