Accessibility

River2Sound's commitment to an accessible website, and how to tell us about a barrier.

We want everyone to be able to find out about River2Sound and take part. That includes our website.

Our standard

We design and test this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. In practice, that means:

  • clear headings and page structure that work with screen readers;
  • everything can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator;
  • text and controls meet color-contrast requirements, and color is never the only way information is shown;
  • every form field has a visible label, and errors are explained in words;
  • pages reflow for small screens and zoom up to 400% without losing content;
  • animations are minimal and respect your device’s “reduce motion” setting;
  • images have text alternatives.

How we test

Every change to the site is checked automatically with the axe accessibility engine on every page, at phone and desktop sizes. We also check pages by hand using only a keyboard, and we are planning a full manual review with screen readers.

Known limitations

  • Some photographs are temporary placeholders while we gather authentic photos of our programs. They all have text descriptions.
  • If our spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) ever asks you to complete a challenge you cannot manage, please contact us another way and we will help.

Programs and places

Our walks visit natural shoreline sites, where surfaces can be uneven, sandy or wet. Each walk description will note the terrain. If you have questions about access for a particular program, please ask; we will do our best to make it work for you.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site doesn’t work for you, please contact us and tell us the page and what happened. We will reply and work on a fix.
