Photo policy

How River2Sound takes, uses and removes photos of participants, and how to opt out.

Photos help us share what happens at River2Sound programs. They must never come at the cost of anyone’s privacy or comfort, especially children’s.

Our commitments

  • Consent first. We only publish photos of participants when we have their consent. For anyone under 18, that means a parent or guardian’s written consent.
  • No names with children’s photos. We do not publish the full names of children alongside their images.
  • No location tracking. We remove location data from photos before publishing them.
  • Authentic photography. We do not use stock photography. Some images on this site are temporary, clearly marked illustrations while we build our photo library; they do not show real River2Sound participants or events.

At programs

Registration will include a photo-consent question. If you prefer not to be photographed, just tell the program leader on the day; we will make sure you are not included.

Removal requests

If you see a photo of yourself or your child that you would like removed, please contact us with a link to the page. We will take it down promptly.

Where photographs are supplied by a professional photographer, they are credited alongside the image.
